The Bungalow of Second Nature — James Carter

Obnubilated; many have been stopped here and have looked down upon the door handle; embarrassed; he no longer asks friends home after school; bewildered; those who have been before had declined his invitations without really knowing why; many years before; the old couple who lived here had all the door handles removed and carefully put back upside down; after trial and error; demonstration; perseverance; encouragement; their dog learnt to use its nose as a skeleton key.

James Carter grew up in a bungalow in Norfolk. He now rents a room on the ground floor of a house share in Finchley Central. He hopes he will live up high one day. @JamAntCar
